Late summer is one of the island’s most beautiful seasons. The sea is still wonderfully warm, the days are made for exploring, and long evenings invite you to slow down and enjoy life by the Mediterranean. With the height of the summer rush beginning to ease, it’s the perfect time to fit in one more escape.
Discover Malta at a Slower Pace
Late summer brings a more relaxed rhythm to the island, making it a wonderful time to explore beyond the beach.
Wander through the historic streets of Valletta, spend an afternoon discovering the quiet charm of Mdina, take a boat trip around Malta’s coastline or simply find a spot by the water and watch the world go by.
With Hotel Juliani as your base, you’re perfectly placed to explore. Located in the heart of St. Julian’s overlooking Spinola Bay, the hotel makes an ideal starting point for discovering the island before returning to the bay at the end of the day.
There’s Still Plenty of Time for the Sea
One of the best things about a late-summer stay in Malta is that summer really isn’t over.
Spend the day swimming in clear Mediterranean waters, discover one of Malta’s hidden coves or take a boat across to Comino and the Blue Lagoon. If a slower day is calling, head upstairs to Hotel Juliani’s rooftop pool and settle in with panoramic views across Spinola Bay.
Sometimes, doing very little is exactly what a summer escape should be about.
Make the Most of Mediterranean Evenings
As the afternoon fades, Malta takes on a different pace. Sunset walks along the coast turn into dinners by the water, cocktails linger a little longer, and warm evenings make it tempting to stay outside well into the night.
At Hotel Juliani, you don’t have to venture far. Enjoy a relaxed drink or bite at Café Juliani overlooking the bay, or make an evening of it with dinner at Michelin-recommended Zest, known for its bold Asian-inspired flavours.
